We were thrilled to receive the Florida Watermelon Queen at Kid’s Choice Fresh Produce in Lake Wales recently! She toured the packing plant, met with all the crew and went out to the fields. Bethany Barfield was excited to get hands on and pitch a few melons into the watermelon trucks too. In the video below she tells us how to pick out a great watermelon.

Miss Bethany Barfield was crowned as the 2020-21 Florida Watermelon Queen during the 52nd Annual Florida Watermelon Association Convention held Jan 16-18, 2020 at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Myers, Florida. Bethany is 22 year old daughter of Dora Barfield. Bethany is currently attending Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida where she is majoring in Nursing.
Bethany enjoys running, cooking, traveling, spending time with her family and friends and volunteering in local community.
As Florida Watermelon Queen, Bethany will travel throughout the United States and Canada, serving as a spokesperson for the watermelon industry. Bethany will hold the state title for one year and in February 2021 will represent Florida for the title of the National Watermelon Queen being held that year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
